There is no question that being a parent is a full time job. From birth, to toddler; to teenager and to college. And it doesn’t stop there. The time comes when your child gains a family of their own and the adult problems they encounter come back to you. How do you prepare for that? Let’s take a look at Mary and Elizabeth. In the book of Luke, the Angel comes to Zechariah and informs him that his wife will have a child and he will be called ‘John’. Luke 1:24-25 says, “After these days his wife Elizabeth conceived and kept herself in seclusion for five months. She said, “The Lord has done this for me. He has looked with favor in these days to take away my disgrace among the people.” The scriptures go on to say that in the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy the Angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her in Luke 1:31 “Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will call His name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.” As you continue to read in Luke chapter 1 you will see that Mary went to see Elizabeth and spent some time with her. Elizabeth was excited to see her and scripture says, “When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped insider her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Two mothers, excited about their children coming into the world! We share this excitement with our own when we find out we are about to become parents. Unlike Mary and Elizabeth we may not have received a ‘heads up’ on who our children will be or will become; but, like them, we received our blessings from God. The beauty in the babies will always calm the negative of the world because the birth of any child is hope. What we don’t see, at this particular time, is what the future may bring. The same God that planned your destiny; the same God that created you and your path; is the same God that created our children and their paths. As He has created a mission just for you and your spouse for His glory, He has a plan tailored mission for the children He blessed you with. And just as you go through your trials and endure the challenges of this world, you pray, stay in the word and grow; you have to know that the same will happen for your children. The fruits of that endurance is the receiving of God’s direction. Listen to our latest teaching below on this topic Faith...Family, How to Keep Focused! Peace and Blessings, Billy & Yolanda
