“As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and there were the Egyptians coming after them! The Israelites were terrified and cried out to the to the Lord for help.” ~Exodus 14:10 (CSB) Have you ever read stories in the bible and wondered why faith seemed to be lost even after witnessing great miracles? For example, in the text above the Israelites had witnessed the power of God through the ten plagues and their release from Pharaoh as his slaves. Through Moses God promised them their freedom and through Moses they were on their way to the promised land. When we read this, we say, “How could they doubt? With everything they just witnessed, how can they doubt God’s love and power in setting them free?” In their defense, the ‘Red Sea’ appeared to be very intimidating. But the situation of them being between the Red Sea and the pursuing of Pharaoh's Army is not different than what we are facing as God’s children today. If you notice, our faith is being defeated by our fleshly desire to be afraid and live in fear. The ‘Red Sea’ in Exodus is like the frustrations of facing life as we know it coming to a complete halt!
Just like the Old testament believers, Satan has us so worried because in front of us, we may run out of food and behind us that terrible virus is coming rapidly for us. This is our ‘Pharaoh/Red Sea’ situation. I’m here to tell you to rebuke that feeling of doubt and despair. My Father says in 2 Timothy 1:7 that He, “…has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound mind (judgment).”-CSB We must believe in Him and not lean more on our own understanding of what we take into our eye gates. Know and believe that God has already covered us in the blood of His Son Jesus. But that covering is only good if we accept the coverage. How do we do that? We take action in what God has given us. Through ‘sound judgment’ we need to change our perspective about what’s going on in the world today. With the ‘power’ God has given us in our hearts and minds we must change what the enemy is telling us is tragedy; and understand that God is allowing us opportunity to show Him how much we love and trust Him. That's not a tragedy...that's strategy! #praisebreak Yes, it is easy to give Him praise when our mortgage and/or rent is paid, and we are living our best life. But we need to give Him the same praise during times like these because when you ‘accept the coverage’, you will be covered the same in bad times as you are in the good times. That’s called good insurance...when you have God's assurance! This is a time of opportunity for the believers! A time to give God praise for what He has done; is doing and will do in our lives as we live according to our purpose for the kingdom. And when we do this, we will witness God perform the miracle of recovery and restoration just as He did for the Israelites. Don’t try and figure it out, because just like the Israelites didn’t know God was going to open up the Red Sea for them to walk through safely, you have no idea how He’s going to get you through today’s challenge. Just believe and give Him the praise and glory because nothing is impossible for our Father! May God continue to bless you on your journey in Jesus name, Amen. Peace & Blessings, -Billy & Yolanda
