How to Reach Beyond Your Own Strength!

Have you ever prayed and ask God for an answer and suddenly He reveals it to you?  Whew!

Yep one of those moments.  When your like “oh….ok God that’s what I’ll do then”.

These are moments that you live for and when they arrive, you stand in awe and are amazed!

Then it hits you!

You realize what God said to you, you could NOT possibly accomplish in your own strength, gifts, talents or resources.  Now what do you do?

Right there, in that exact moment is when God is waiting for you to respond in obedience to His direction.  That’s what we call “reaching beyond your own strength”.

So instead of asking God how and why.  Just say “yes I will…Lord, please help me I can’t do this alone”.  When you say this statement in faith, you are activating the power of God to take control and place you on the right path.

However, if you wait too long to respond or try to figure out how you are going to do it.  That’s when you mess up.  This waiting time leads to leaning to your own understanding, falling back into comfort and contentment or even rationalizing the situation with yourself, which leads to not doing it at all.

What are you doing?  Why did you ask in the first place if you really didn’t want to hear the answer from God?  God does not work in our comfort and contentment.  God allows the disruptions so that you may trust Him and not yourselves.  God allows your situation to look impossible, so that you can lean on Him and not to your own understanding.

That’s what it means to reach beyond your own strength.

So, the next time you find yourself in this place; reach beyond your own strength and recite these scriptures to ignite your power:
  1. Matthew 6:33- Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
  2. 2 Corinthians 10:5- We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
  3. Ephesians 3:20- Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
  4. Psalm 119:1-3- Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.  Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.  They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.
  5. 1 Corinthians 14:33- For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace

Until next time,

Live in Peace,
